Secondhand Clothing Marketplace Dresm.Com Aims To Create Sustainable Online Shopping Experience

January 23, 2013 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
January 23, 2013- In the past year, several online thrift stores have been launched. All of these stores have a variety of differences between them, however none are as easy, or as straightforward, as Dresm.

Conceptualized, built, and launched by four friends without any venture capital or angel money backing, Dresm is shaping to change the way we discard, or upgrade, our wearable goods. Dresm's format is a peer-to-peer community marketplace. This means that anyone can create an account and sell their clothes, shoes, or accessories online.

Fundamentally more specific than larger community sales sites, Dresm is all about fashions. Unlike its competitors, Dresm not only focuses on the Women's premier market; there are Men's and Youth sections as well.

The process of buying or selling on Dresm is extremely easy, and rewarding. Reduce, reuse, recycle, all three concepts apply to Dresm, and are a primary focus of the site.

"We basically came up with the entire concept for Dresm by wanting to do a venture that benefited the environment. Anyone can start a business, we wanted one that did something positive for the world around us" (co-founder Benny Ipsen).

Not only are you doing something good for the environment when using Dresm, you also have the option to help a charitable cause at the same time.
"Given the charitable association with thrift type clothing, we wanted to figure out a way for our site to give back. The resulting charity collaboration is something we are very proud of at Dresm"–(co-founder Alex Cazanas).

Dresm has large plans for growth, and aims to be the primary marketplace for pre-owned fashion online. Currently, the site is converting about 5% of the unique visitors into users, well above industry average.

Dresm is a privately held company located Portland, Oregon.
