Parachute and WebEx Team to Deliver Workplace Sexual Harassment Training Live Online
Interactive Web-Based “TV-Style Docudramas” and Live Training Help Companies Comply With Legal Training Requirements
SANTA CLARA, Calif., November, 2005
Sexual harassment training has become mandatory at many companies. In fact, California, Maine and Connecticut now require all managers in companies with 50 or more employees to attend a certified sexual harassment training course by the end of the calendar year. To help businesses meet this goal, Parachute, a HR-risk management company, and WebEx Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq: WEBX), the leading provider of on-demand collaboration applications, have teamed to deliver certified sexual harassment training over the web.
The program, entitled “Managing Harassment in the Workplace”, is designed to meet state compliance guidelines. Each interactive learning presentation includes an instructor, question-and-answer session, and an award-winning TV-style docudrama that highlights real-world examples. The docudrama won the coveted CINE Golden Eagle Award, the top award for documentary and informational film and video production. All program materials, including video docudrama and companion handbook, can be customized to support a company’s exact harassment policy.

The “Managing Harassment in the Workplace” program includes specialized courses for various employees and job functions:
• Training for the Manager/Supervisor—Provides a comprehensive and
interactive two-hour program
• Certified Investigator Training—Instructs human resources professionals and in-house investigators on methodology including the nuances of conducting a sexual harassment investigation
• Training for the Employee—Teaches employees what sexual harassment is and the employee’s role in prevention
Courses are delivered through the award-winning WebEx Event Center. Since WebEx Event Center is completely web-based, users only need an Internet-connected computer to attended a training session. WebEx Event Center automatically records the time and duration of employee attendance, validates participation and tracks test results for company records.
“Delivering these courses live online engages employees and affects real change in the workplace without the cost and inconvenience of in-person training,” said Doug Frazier, CEO of Parachute. “Using WebEx technology has already significantly extended our market reach geographically. This new strategic alliance further extends our market reach into the small and medium business market.”
“From compliance to professional development, Parachute courses on WebEx are a great way for business people to access a library of valuable training content,” said Jeff Tonkel, vice president of product management, WebEx Communications. “This online training program is a cost-effective way for companies to meet their training and compliance needs.“
