Echo is a weekly TV show that highlights the accomplishments of successful South Asian, Asian and African Canadians. The show celebrates the diverse voices of groups whose contributions to society are redefining Toronto as we know it. The punchy documentary-style show profiles home-grown achievers in the realms of Style, Career, Self, and Arts and Entertainment. Echo segments are filmed on-location to depict the work and lifestyle environment of the featured guests in a truthful manner.

“We are elated to be aligned with a broadcaster that sees Echo the way we do. From the outset, the producers and myself have pushed the quality of Echo’s content and visuals to give it a primetime feel. It excites us to see that Sun TV’s investment in producers of colour has really paid off,” says Executive Producer Claire Prieto. Prieto’s extensive film and television resume spans thirty years as a director and producer.

Echo boasts an exceptionally diverse production team, beginning with the producers who transformed this microcosm of the Canadian multicultural ideal into a reality. Co-produced by Jamaican-Canadian Nicole Brooks, Punjabi-Canadian Bobby Brown and Peter Lee who is Chinese-Canadian, the show is made possible by Sun TV’s New Voices Fund. Together the trio formed As One Inc, a production company that employs nearly sixty, more than 90 per cent of whom are visible minorities.

As One Inc. proudly presents 39 episodes of ground-breaking Canadian television. Echo airs on Sun TV (Cable 15, XpressVu 213 and Star Choice 326), Saturdays at 1:30 p.m . and 8:30 p.m.
