LEDLinX™ Launches New Designer Assistance Program - Three Levels of LED Design Support offered to OEMs

March 05, 2013 (PRLEAP.COM) Technology News
Houston – March 5, 2013 – LEDLinX, a common sense LED light engine manufacturer, has launched a "Designer Assistance Program" available to OEM luminaire manufacturers looking for a simple and reliable LED system for luminaire designs.

The Designer Assistance Program allows designers to experience the simplicity of luminaire design through the use of a modular, scalable and connectable system. The LEDLinX Light Engine system offers a complete LED light engine solution which includes any single or combination of the 5 available geometric LED modules, drivers, connector[s], heat sinks for thermal management, and secondary optics.

The program offers 3 levels of assistance:
  • Level I – LEDLinX supplies a light engine design kit, consisting of modules, drivers, connectors, heat sink, and secondary optics, as well as design materials. This will allow designers a hands-on experience of the system. There is a small cost associated with the design kit depending on the quantity.
  • Level II – The customer can supply LEDLinX with one of their existing fixture designs that are looking to retrofit into LED. LEDLinX will perform the retrofit for them using LEDLinX technology, and offer photometric and thermal testing. Charge for this service is based on the complexity and breadth of line requirements.
  • Level III – The customer can work directly with the LEDLinX Engineering team to design fixtures using LEDLinX technology. Customers are invited to the LEDLinX facility in Houston, Texas for a collaborative, hands-on approach of design engineering. Photometric and thermal testing of the newly designed fixtures is available to the customer upon completion.

  • The LEDLinX light engine system offers endless design possibilities for fixture manufacturers and the Designer Assistance Program helps to support the OEM's. The program is unique in the lighting industry because it allows customers to become engaged with the LEDLinX team and to choose the level of assistance they need. The goal is to make it easier for the OEM's to get into the business of manufacturing LED fixtures.

"We have engaged with LEDLinX in a Level II project. We provided some fixtures and LEDLinX was able to demonstrate their capabilities, which will allow us to reduce our time to market," says Robert Naranjo, President of Crystal Lighting.
