Malibu Interior Designer Creates Unique Solution For Snuggle Happy Sofa Dogs

Elizabeth Lamont, Interior Designer and owner of Room at The Beach in Malibu, CA, has custom designed a sofa pet protector that won't cramp your style and will keep Fido happy.

"The idea arose when we delivered a brand new custom designed sofa to a client", says Elizabeth Lamont. "She loved the sofa and her Bichon Frise took an instant liking to curling up in one of the corners. The problem was he had a habit of drooling ever so slightly when he sleeps." Seeing that the owner wanted to be able to cuddle with the dog in the sofa, Elizabeth had to come up with a solution that would work for everyone." As a designer I couldn't stand seeing the new sofa being covered with an old blanket or ugly pet protector. I had to take action!" , says Elizabeth. So the idea was born to create a custom corner slipcover that would blend in with the sofa rather than detract from it.

The slipcover piece is made of a soft chenille fabric ensuring the dog would love to curl up in that particular corner and is custom fitted it to the arm of the sofa. By matching the color of the original sofa and using an exquisite fabric allowed the designer to create a uniform look that fits nicely in with the newly decorated family room. Custom measurements ensures that it stays in place even during the most active going-for-a-run kind of dreams.
