(PRLEAP.COM) (Oak Brook, IL) March 19, 2013 - Sheilah A. Doyle Foundation is pleased to announce it was selected to receive the Annual Award for Business Excellence by the Daily Herald Business Ledger. The AABEs recognize outstanding business achievement, growth and community involvement among Chicago suburban business professionals. Awards were presented at the 23rd Annual Award for Business Excellence ceremony on March 13th at Medinah Banquets in Addison, IL.

Sheilah A. Doyle Foundation was honored in the Not-For-Profit category for its creative camp program for children who have lost a parent, legal guardian, or sibling to homicide. The not-for-profit organization also assists eligible high school seniors that attend the camp program with college scholarships to those wishing to pursue their education. The camp only lasts three days, but provides a lifetime of hope for these children.

"We are excited about receiving this award! Our growth over the last three years is due to the community's response to a need for change," said Kevin Doyle, founder of the Sheilah A. Doyle Foundation. "In 2012, there were over five hundred homicides in Chicago alone, which was the highest number since 2008. Our hope is that our organization can create a sense of hope for children who have experienced the loss of a loved one due to homicide."

Awards were presented to twenty organizations with a significant presence in the suburban circulation area of the Daily Herald Business Ledger. Former Illinois Speaker of the House of Representatives Lee Daniels was the keynote speaker for the AABE evening event. The recipient companies will be featured in a special section of the April 15th issue of the Daily Herald Business Ledger.
