"Cocktale Times," a new book by Roy Blunt, has been released by RoseDog Books.

In the first part of this book Roy Blunt takes the reader through the ups and downs of many years of his passionate unrequited love for David who, because of his ambitious desire for conventional professional fame, makes every effort to deny his own natural homosexuality.

In an exploration of the varied responses male homosexuals make to their nature, Roy also presents a variety of stories about his friends and acquaintances. Throughout, the sex itself is only mildly explicit.

The author's intention is to provoke further thought. Though homosexuality is every bit as natural as left-handedness, and every bit as common, he contends, homophobia is rife. What he believes is worse is "autohomophobia", a person's fear and rejection of his own sexual nature. This is widespread, he says, but particularly so in the churches. The priesthood is one of the most popular refuges for the autohomophobe. He contends that as with the former rejection of science, some churches still refuse to accept the truth about sexuality.

About the Author:
The author is a retired psychologist. Drawing inter alia on varied experiences, professional and otherwise, he has constructed a number of vaguely related stories, all of them illustrating varieties of male homosexual behavior. Differing greatly in length, the stories are sometimes frank, but never lurid or sensational, possibly even occasionally boring.

Claiming no expertise, but disappointed at the generally poor quality of attempts to describe and/or explain male homosexuality, the author hopes that this little book will prompt reflection and stimulate discussion.

"Cocktale Times" is a 120-page paperback with a retail price of $15.00. The ISBN is 978-1-4349-2369-1. It was published by RoseDog Books, an imprint of Dorrance Publishing Co., Inc of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
