Portion of Braces, Invisalign Costs in Edmonton To Go Towards Building Kenyan School

EDMONTON & SHERWOOD PARK, AB - It's not unusual for a Spruce Grove orthodontics practice to adopt a philanthropy, but Dr. Amer Hussain and the Pure Orthodontics team wanted to extend their charitable outreach past Canadian borders. Inspired to impact impoverished communities around the globe, they're partnering with "Free The Children," an organization that stimulates self-sustainability and innovation among youth in poverty ravaged countries worldwide. A percentage of patients' braces and Invisalign costs will help fund Free The Children's mission.

Founded in 1995 by an impassioned 12 year-old outraged by the corrupt practice of child labor in Southeast Asia, Free The Children's international agenda uses the "Adopt a Village" model. Essentially, Free The Children focuses their efforts on reshaping the culture of poor villages by providing the necessary resources for positive, lasting change, rather than offering simple handouts.

Gifts from Pure Orthodontics' patients will go towards the construction of a school house in Kenya. Once complete, Kenyan youth will acquire invaluable life skills, including business training, positive healthcare habits, suggestions for alternative incomes and improved farming practices. These lessons can truly flip the mindset of a long-suffering village and help ensure sustained economic development.

"We wanted to give our patients the opportunity to take part in such an uplifting movement," says Hussain, known to be one of the top orthodontists in Alberta. "My associates and I are so excited to help change an entire village for the better."

Hussain, a nationally recognized provider of invisible braces, has always strived to impact both the world and surrounding communities. Aspiring to boost the smiles and self-confidence of locals struggling financially, Pure Orthodontics founded a chapter of Smile For A Lifetime, a program that provides free orthodontic care.
