"The End of the Rainbow," a new book by Vanessa Covington, has been released by RoseDog Books.

When best friends Theresa Carlton and Sheila Laster traveled from Philadelphia to Los Angeles to start a new life, neither expected to be involved in a murder within five short months of their arrival.

Sixteen-year-old Theresa Carlton is pregnant and twenty-two-year old Billy Richardson is the father. When Theresa approaches Billy with the news, he threatens her. He isn't going to jail for having sex with a minor. Afraid to confide in her parents, Theresa attempts to take her own life, ending up in a psychiatric ward where she meets eighteen-year-old intern, Sheila Laster.

Sheila has her own problems. She's dealing with her lecherous stepfather, Jack Wheeler. Leaving all of their unhappiness behind, the girls venture west where they find employment working as escorts for a wealthy man named Peter Mancuso. Theresa falls in love with one of her clients, a real-estate attorney twenty years her senior. Sheila is just thrilled to be thousands of miles away from her stepfather. Life is good.

But when one of the girls commits murder and convinces the other to help bury the body in the California desert, the fear of discovery places a strain on their relationship. They need to stay a step ahead of the detectives investigating the missing person case and believe that their crime may never be uncovered. That is, until a personal journal and a probing sibling threaten to expose the true relationship between the murderer and the deceased.
