US cruise liner, Silver Shadow, docked at the Dubai Cruise Terminal recently with more than 340 passengers and 284 crew members on board marking the beginning of a busy winter cruise season in the emirate.

On arrival, the passengers were treated to a traditional Arabian welcome ceremony with school children offering flowers. UAE nationals dressed in their traditional attire offered a taste of warm Arabian hospitality.

Guests were offered Gahwah (Arabic coffee) while the Ayyalah band performed (traditional musical band). There was also a heritage and handicrafts display while the Dubai Police band performed.

Acting Manager, Dubai Cruise Terminal, Awadh Seghayer Alketbi said: "The American cruise ship arrived from Muscat and will remain docked in Dubai for two days. Around 286 passengers disembarked in Dubai in a passenger exchange programme that took place before the vessel’s onward journey to Fujairah."

Gulf Agency Company (GAC Dubai) was the agent for the cruise liner and Arabian Adventures organised the sightseeing tours for the visitors.

More than 20 ships are expected to call at the Dubai Cruise Terminal during the ongoing winter season.
