It's hard to imagine how, in a single year, anyone could write and publish not one, but two cookbooks, maintain a popular cooking blog and raise an infant daughter; in the past year Jacqueline Pham has managed to do all four. Her first book, Haute Potato: From Pommes Rissolées to Timbale with Roquefort, 75 Gourmet Potato Recipes, was released in December and is on shelves now. Her second book, Bánh Mì: 75 Bánh Mì Recipes for Authentic and Delicious Vietnamese Sandwiches, will hit stores in July.

"It has been an amazing year. I'm really proud of both books, and excited to reach new home cooks who may never have visited my blog." noted Pham. "And of course, becoming a mom and watching my daughter grow up is the best adventure of them all. She definitely inherited my love of food."

Pham's culinary career started just four years ago when she launched her cooking blog, Pham Fatale. The blog was a way for her to share her recipes with family, friends, and fellow foodies. From its humble beginnings, Pham Fatale has grown to over 1,500 recipes with more than 350,000 readers every month. Her recipes have been featured by Yahoo!, The Huffington Post, Glamour, Cooking Channel, BET, Oprah.com and many other publications, and she has developed recipes for large food manufacturers such as Walker Shortbread.

"Pham Fatale has been such a wonderful experience." said Pham. "It's incredibly gratifying every time I receive a comment from a reader who has successfully recreated one of my recipes. It's not just about the dishes; I get to learn about their lives and what inspires them to cook."

Jacqueline Pham was born to Vietnamese, immigrant parents and raised in Paris. She learned early on to appreciate the bold flavors and exotic ingredients of Vietnamese food as well as the subtlety and elegance of French cuisine. As an adult, she moved to the San Francisco Bay Area with her husband, who is of Indian descent and a vegetarian. This fusion of cultures and tastes is clearly reflected in her cuisine.

Fusion cuisine is becoming a mainstream in the culinary world. Restaurants from coast to coast are blurring the lines between different cooking traditions. Jacqueline Pham has uniquely perfected the art of food fusion, partly because of her own culinary interests and passion, and also because her large, extended family has a number of special dietary needs. All these elements come together in her extraordinarily creative, thoughtful, beautifully presented culinary creations.
