WATERVILLE, Maine, May 30, 2013 — Since 1995, Strategic Vision has surveyed vehicle owners in search of the models that not only have the fewest problems, but also elicit a positive emotional response from buyers. This year, the 2013 Dodge Dart earned the highest score in the Small Car category of the auto researcher's Total Quality Index (TQI). Strategic Vision Vice President Christopher Chaney extolled the virtues of the Dart, a new model that joined the already-competitive compact segment last year, praising its style, performance and versatility.

The Strategic Vision 2013 TQI was calculated from the responses of more than 17,000 buyers who purchased 2013 models between September and November 2012. Owners were questioned about 155 specific aspects of their vehicle, rating them on a scale that ranges from "A Failure" to "I Love It." Earning 884 points out of a possible 1,000, the Dodge Dart outscored models like the Hyundai Elantra, Chevrolet Spark and Toyota Corolla, finishing well above the category's average of 850 points.

"It's an impressive feat for a new car like the Dart to come on the scene and instantly steal the hearts of drivers, especially in a segment that's so crowded," said Scott Pinnette, general manager of Central Maine Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, a Waterville, Maine Dodge dealer. "With a range of responsive-yet-efficient engines and an athletic exterior design, the Dart is proving it can compete in the compact class."

Dart buyers can choose from three available four-cylinder powerplants, starting with a standard Tigershark 2.0-liter engine that produces 160 horsepower while returning up to 36 mpg on the highway. A turbocharged 1.4-liter unit offers the same power but increases fuel economy to 41 mpg on the highway as part of the Aero package, while the range-topping Dart GT comes with a 2.4-liter Tigershark powerplant that generates 184 horsepower. Outside, the Dart sports muscular lines and a low, wide stance that is accentuated by a split crosshair grille.

While the Dart's hard-hitting exterior is already winning over owners, two new special-edition trims are now available, packaging together some of the car's most popular features for buyers' convenience. The Dart SXT Special Edition boasts a unique black version of the crosshair grille and adds dark-tinted projector fog lamps, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, LED racetrack taillights and a dual exhaust. It also includes a long list of convenience features like Bluetooth connectivity and a USB port. Meanwhile, the Dart Limited Special Edition gives buyers a dose of luxury with amenities like a power sunroof, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, Nappa leather seats and a Garmin navigation system.

"These new special editions make it really convenient for Dart buyers to get the options they want without having to pay extra for every popular add-on," added Pinnette. "Whether they want to make the most of the premium amenities available in the Limited or just want to upgrade the SXT with some sportier highlights, it's easier than ever for them to customize the Dart to their liking."
