The Improv Miami Prizes 2004 To Have Showcase Performances At The Shores Performing Arts Theatre December 4th

Aventura, Florida, October 27, 2004 - ImprovMiami.com, a guide for South Florida improvisational theatre, announces that showcase performances will punctuate an evening filled with awards and top-notch comedy at the Shores Performing Arts Theatre on December 4th. The Improv Miami Prizes 2004, or Impys award show will feature four performances from some of South Florida's premier local troupes in a showcase format to be held at the Shores Performing Arts Theater, at 9806 NE 2nd Avenue in Miami Shores, beginning at 8pm on Saturday night, December 4th. Performances will be by Impromedy, Laughing Gas, Mod27, and Name Change Pending.

South Florida's troupes are excited to be participating in the awards, which are dedicated to the promotion of the improvisational art form and to recognize excellence both on and off stage. As the ImprovMiami.com slogan states, "And you thought our elections were funny!"

"South Florida has become a hotbed for some of the best talent in the country over the last few years," said Ozzy Quintana, the Director of Impromedy.

Gerald Owens, the Director of Laughing Gas continued, "It's nice to have an award show that finally recognizes what all of us already knew, that South Floridians are funny."

Tickets will be $20 ($15 for seniors or students) and will be available for pre-sale and group rates may be available on a case by case basis.
