Ellis Hotel Welcomes Travelers to Atlanta during the Fourth of July

From its central location in downtown Atlanta, visitors to the city are booking the Ellis Hotel to get ready for some of the events taking place around the city. Here are some of the main celebrations around the hotel.

The Atlanta Braves will play the third game of the series against the Miami Marlins at Turner Field (7-minute drive from the Ellis Hotel). The game will start at around 7:00pm and end in a fireworks display to cap off Independence Day.

Centennial Olympic Park (2-minute drive) will have family activities starting from 6:00pm. The Fireworks Spectacular, synchronized to patriotic and popular music, will begin at approximately 9:40pm for the event finale. This will be one of the biggest firework displays in the city.

The Georgia Aquarium (4-minute drive) will host its own event, Red White & Brew. From the Ocean's Ballroom, guests will have a full view of the fireworks display in Centennial Olympic Park while listening to a live music performance by Yacht Rock Schooner. The event will feature a seasonal beer sampling from a number of local and national breweries as well as a barbecue buffet by Wolfgang Puck Catering. Tickets are $55 in advance, $65 the day of, and all guests must be at least 21. The event lasts from 6:00pm-10:30pm.The Aquarium also offers an option for the whole family, Red White & View. With prime access to the fireworks show, fun activities for kids, and a variety of picnic and dessert offerings, families with children of all ages are welcome. Children's tickets are $15, and adults' and seniors' are $20.

Lennox Square (15-minute drive) will host its 54th Annual 4th of July Celebration. As one of the largest July 4th celebrations in the Southeast, it attracts an average of 200,000 people annually. Visitors will enjoy live music and a 20-minute firework display. Bands, including local music legends Sons of Sailors and Party on the Moon, will begin at 6:00pm and play until the fireworks show at 9:35pm. The Atlanta's Next Legend competition winner, Wesley Cook, will also take the stage. This event is free to the public.

Another Independence Day staple is the Peachtree Road Race from Lennox Square to Peachtree St NE and 10th St NE at Midtown. The 10K (6.2 mi) race usually draws in over 60,000 participants with waves starting throughout the morning. The Ellis is a 7-minute drive from the finish line, so tired runners can get to their rooms quickly and get ready for the Fourth of July celebrations later on.
