Online Magazine Blogcritics.org Rolls Out Sports and Gaming Content Sections

December 04, 2005 (PRLEAP.COM) Technology News
Expanding upon its core mission of covering music, politics, books, film, TV, and popular culture, award-winning online magazine Blogcritics.org announced the launch of two new content sections this week. Because more than 50,000 daily visitors lock onto Blogcritics.org to get a daily dose of more than 60 published stories, extended coverage of sports and computer and console-games will only further burnish the reputation of the famously "sinister cabal" of more than 1,100 bloggers.

Behold:

Blogcritics.org Sports provides the perfect platform for idol worship, flag waving, and passionate spewing rant-rave bliss. One of Blogcritics.org's "killer apps" is that while the writers begin the conversation, readers then have the opportunity to chime in to create an ongoing dialogue.

Cooking up in the sports-stew this week:

* Sal Marinello takes a gander at Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb's unorthodox training regimen. Was his season-ending sports hernia a direct result of his therapist unnaturally twisting his legs for extra mobility? Or was it too much Chunky Soup?
* Baseball's off-season began with blockbuster trades. Blogcritics.org Sports Editor Matthew T. Sussman breaks down the Red Sox acquiring Josh Beckett and Mike Lowell for prospects, and Mets fan Chris Beaumont isn't oblivious to his beloved team's recent moves, notably for Carlos Delgado.
* George Best, Britain's equivalent of Mickey Mantle in both popularity and inebriety, passed away Friday at 59. Christopher Rose reflects on his Manchester United boyhood idol.
* Many a zany to rational take on other sports and events, including college football, tennis, WWE (for People of the Raw), and curling (for People of the North).

The pace of change is accelerating to the point where you need help figuring out what trend-setting games and technological apparatuses to check out, let alone which button controls the machine gun and which the virtual microwave for a nice cup of cocoa.

Blogcritics.org Gaming has it covered, wrapped, and sealed tight, from online games of virtual wonder to the latest console and platform contraptions to news, notes, and punditocracy about the lowdown and upside shaking up the gaming world:

* The Xbox 360 is in la casa, at least for a lucky few! Did you get yours? Check out Blogcritics.org Gaming Editor Ken Edwards's "First Impressions."
* Check out Blogcritics.org's Game Scoring System so that you can easily discern the superb and sublime from the junk and gunk.
* Matt Paprocki is hot and righteously bothered by "The Farce of the 'Video Game Report Card.'"
* Alisha Karabinus goes into the dark corners of gaming lore to ask, "Who is Leeroy Jenkins?"
