Edmonds, WA – In this fast-paced, modern world, it is often hard for families to keep in touch and for parents to guide children in the wake of so many outside influences. That is why KidsDiscuss.com has expanded its parenting books and products with publication of Character Building with the Family Meeting Diary (now available through AuthorHouse), by Jean Tracy.

Research tells us that weekly Family Meetings increase family unity, communication, and time together. Family Meetings build character too.
Tracy, a former elementary teacher, probation officer, and seasoned child/family counselor designed the book with 52 meetings, one for every week of the year. Each week includes an easy agenda starting with compliments from each member to every other member. Each person gets to state a problem. Votes are cast and solutions are discussed. The meeting ends with commitments from each member to “make the family better.”

Character Building with the Family Meeting Diary includes pages to record each meeting. “All you need is a pencil and someone to takes the notes,” says Tracy. "This keepsake will hold what the family dealt with, which problems they solved, and what they did to make the family better."

Tracy states, “With the large number of divorces each and every year, kids need the structure, the bonding, and the character building that come from holding family meetings.”

The average American child watches 23 hours of TV a week. Kids see over 10,000 murders, rapes, and robberies each year. "Why not give our children a better vision than television? says Tracy. "Hold Family Meetings today. Solve world problems tomorrow.”
Her book is available through her website, http://www.KidsDiscuss.com and through www.AuthorHouse.com
