Russell Bedford appoints a correspondent firm in Mauritius

Russell Bedford International, the London-based worldwide accounting group, has appointed Kross Border Trust Services Limited (KBTS) as its Correspondent firm on the Indian Ocean island of Mauritius. Formerly known as KPMG Peat Marwick International Ltd, this was among the first management companies set up in Mauritius in the 1990s to provide trust and corporate administration services to an international client base.


KBTS was separated from the KPMG network in July 2003 and has since continued as an independent fiduciary service provider with Jaye Jingree as its managing director. Jaye Jingree, ex-senior partner of KPMG Mauritius, is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland and has over 30 years of post-qualification experience in public practice including the international financial industry.


The newly-appointed chairman is Georges Chung Tick Kan, ex-chairman of the Mauritian Financial Services Promotion Agency (FSPA).

The firm has two main divisions, each led by a senior manager. Mow Taher heads the Company Administration & Trust Services Team. Dhanun Ujoodha is manager of the Accounting & Back Office Work Team. In total the firm has some 50 principals and staff.

All the firm’s personnel speak both English and French in addition to their Creole mother tongue. Other languages spoken include Hindi, Gujarati and Swahili.

With offices located in the centre of the capital, Port Louis, KBTS provides tailor-made services to cater for the needs of individual investors, family businesses, high net worth investors and multinational corporations.

The firm has a Management Licence issued by the Financial Services Commission.
