Sammy Hagar and Edge Music Network Are Feeding Hungry Americans

The Metropolitan Grill, Seattle, Washington, August 16 ,2013 - Sammy Hagar took time to meet with Edge Music Network, an organization as dedicated to feeding hungry Americans as he is, to talk about why he donates money, and often his time, to local food banks in each city his tour visits. Edge Music Network's Community Goal Program, which would allow Sammy's fans to feed the hungry and eliminate food deserts just by doing things that music lovers do anyway, caught the attention of the philanthropic "Red Rocker."

"In my life right now, to go into a city and just do a concert, take the money and leave.. I don't feel good about doing that anymore…" said Hagar. "I don't know why…once you get bit and once you feel like you need to do something for other people, you just kinda' …get hung up on it and you feel like you have do it. The easiest way to do it is to support people that need food 'cuz it's the basis…I've found..(food) is the best bang for the buck."

Edge Music Network, a digital channel for music which allots VIP members "points" when they upload, share, or discuss music videos, enables VIPs to allocate their points toward charitable community goals, a favorite being GrowAppalachia.org to which EMN wants to donate money for gardening grants on behalf of VIP members.
