Impressions Dental Announces 6th Annual Halloween Candy Buy-back Event

October 07, 2013 (PRLEAP.COM) Health News
Impressions Dental has teamed up with Aspen Orthodontics to host a sixth annual Halloween candy buy-back event. You and your children are encouraged to bring your candy treats to the Impressions Dental office at 5970 South Cooper Road in Chandler on Friday, November 1, 2013. Candy will be accepted between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. on that day.

As a dentist in Chandler AZ, with a busy practice, the dental health professionals know that too much candy can wreak havoc on children's teeth. Since adults also like to snack out of their kids' Halloween candy bags, participating in this event helps remove the temptation to indulge in candies that may be problematic for bridge work or fillings.

Everyone can benefit from this candy buy-back program event. Children earn $1 per pound of candy that they donate. In addition, the dentists will donate 50 cents per pound of turned in candy to the school of your choice. Yet there is a third beneficiary of this candy buy-back program! The collected candy is packaged up and donated to Operation Gratitude, which is run and overseen by the California Army National Guard. The program volunteers place the donated candy in care packages that are then sent to individual United States service members who are on active duty outside of the country.

The Candy buy-back event is successful because parents love the opportunity to dispose of excess Halloween candy while children love earning money while enjoying the fun activities the event provides. Local businesses in the community provide fun freebies, valuable certificates and coupons for anything from children's meals to ice cream. Business community participants this year include Rubios, Dunkin' Donuts, Red Robin and many others. Children will enjoy a bounce house, Jamba Juice, balloon artist, receive complementary dental goodies and have the chance to sign a card of appreciation that will be sent to the troops benefiting from the candy donations. Participants also have the opportunity to meet active and retired military men and women and the Mayor along with local firemen and police officers. There will also be a raffle for $1,000 worth of dental and $1,000 orthodontic services.

Impressions Dental and Aspen Orthodontics are excited for the Candy Buy-back event that will reach out to military troops who serve our country so graciously while promoting healthy teeth and smiles for children.
