Rent-A-Center recently donated $20,000 to the Atlanta Community Food Bank (ACFB). The Rent-A-Center payment comes on the heels of a recent donation of 10 freezers earmarked for partner agencies of the food bank.

The AACFB, which serves the food insecure through more than 600 partner nonprofits in 29 counties throughout metro Atlanta and north Georgia, is one of eleven across the nation sharing in $250,000 worth of Rent-A-Center funding for hunger relief this year.

The donation is in addition to the grassroots hunger-relief campaign being staged across Rent-A-Center's 3000-plus U.S. stores throughout September, Hunger Action Month. When making a Rent-A-Center payment in store or simply browsing, customers will have the opportunity to participate in the "Soup to Nuts" virtual food drive. The donated funds will be distributed to food banks across the country at the conclusion of the month-long campaign.

"On behalf of the Atlanta Community Food Bank and our partner agencies, I'd like to thank Rent-A-Center for the wonderful donations the company has given us this month," said Sarah Fonder-Kristy, Vice President of Development for the Atlanta Community Food Bank. "The funds and freezers will truly help in our efforts to feed more people in our community."

Rent-A-Center (NASDAQ: RCII), headquartered in Plano, Texas, operates more than 3,000 stores in the United States, Puerto Rico, Canada and Mexico. The company employs over 21,000 coworkers.
