December 15, 2005 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
The “Building Intelligence Tour” seminar will help building owners and managers, along with system integrators and suppliers, maneuver their operations through the vast changes prompted by the emergence of intelligent building technologies.

“Recently, the Group has gained an immense amount of traction through its Building Intelligence Tour,” said Paul Ehrlich, President and Founder of the Building Intelligence Group. “We intend to continue offering a series of seminars that provide an introduction to the value of intelligent buildings and the planning process for their implementation. The seminar at AHR Expo will provide both educational material as well as information about a wide range of solutions to attendees.”

The program will specifically feature a session on CABA’s intelligent building initiatives, which include the development of both life cycle costing and intelligent building ranking systems.

The day will start with a keynote speech from real estate technology visionary, Jim Young. As the President of Realcomm, a leading event for real estate and technology, Mr. Young has traveled around the world researching next generation and intelligent buildings. BOMA International views Realcomm as their source for information on technology. Mr. Young will share his findings, from a developer’s perspective, about the need for intelligent buildings.

Other topics will include:

- Intelligent building overview – definitions, financial benefits, and reasons to implement now.
- Intelligent building technologies – open standards, Internet technology, structured cabling and wireless mesh networking.
- Research from the CABA Intelligent & Integrated Buildings Council – important work on defining the benefits and value of intelligent buildings.
- Planning workshop – how you can make a current or future project intelligent.
- Case studies – throughout the day we will feature case studies of actual intelligent building projects and details on what worked best for these projects.

“We are extremely pleased to be working with the Building Intelligence Group to create educational and networking opportunities for industry,” said Ronald J. Zimmer, CABA President & CEO. “Under the leadership of Paul Ehrlich, the Building Intelligence Group has gained a tremendous amount of recognition for its high-quality seminars.”

The group has also gained a wide number of sponsors for this event. Sponsors include Cisco Systems, Panduit, Richards Zeta Building Intelligence, Tridium, Controls Group North America (CGNA), GridLogix, Cyrus Technologies, Eagle Technology, Dust Networks.
