Nussbaum Transportation Drives in Awards

HUDSON, ILLINOIS – Nussbaum Transportation is excited to announce that the company has been recognized by two major industry publications. Nussbaum was named a Top 50 Green Fleet by Heavy Duty Trucking magazine and a Top 100 Trucker by Inbound Logistics.

  • Heavy Duty Trucking's Top 50 Green Fleets award recognizes trucking fleets for being ahead of the curve in their sustainability efforts.

  • Inbound Logistics' Top 100 Truckers award identifies the top motor carriers in the United States that offer superior operational capabilities and experience. This is the third year in a row Nussbaum has received this award.

"Our team loves nothing better than the creative challenge of designing efficient transportation solutions," said Brent Nussbaum, CEO. "We are always looking for ways to maximize equipment use and driver resources. And, we're especially honored by these recognitions as we continue to test and launch new green initiatives."

"Green strategies vary greatly depending on the operation. Therefore, HDT looked at each fleet individually in order to analyze how they were making the best decisions for efficiency and sustainability," Heavy Duty Trucking, 2013.

The responsibilities of seeking out new ideas and staying ahead of the curve are inherent to Nussbaum's company culture. These awards recognize Nussbaum's efforts to maintain a robust culture of excellence and innovation.

Nussbaum continues to raise the bar. Three examples of Nussbaum's green initiatives include the launch of extended trailer skirts, a unique driver bonus program, and a brand new maintenance facility.

  • Nussbaum's trucks will be the first in the industry with extended trailer skirts. These equipment enhancements will save an unprecedented 6% in fuel consumption.

  • Reducing fuel consumption is also a key goal in Nussbaum's driver bonus program. The more fuel drivers save, the higher their bonus.

  • A new maintenance facility allows Nussbaum to guarantee that all of its equipment is maintained, up-to-date and as efficient as possible.

"Given today's economic challenges, and the complexity of better matching supply to demand, it's impressive that Nussbaum Transportation continues to provide the kinds of motor freight solutions Inbound Logistics readers need," said Felecia Stratton, Editor, Inbound Logistics. "We are proud to recognize Nussbaum as a Top 100 Trucker."
