"Memories Not Forgotten," a new book by Madame Vapala, has been released by Dorrance Publishing Co., Inc.

Madame Vapala recalls the many memories of her sometimes charming, often times devastating childhood growing up in Utah in the 1940s and 50s. As she struggles to grow up under the strict rule of her abusive parents, Vapala learns to find solace within herself and appreciate the love, happiness, comedy, and adventure that went hand in hand with a childhood filled with pain, sadness, confusion, and suffering. "Memories Not Forgotten" shares a detailed account of her memories spanning from the age of two through her teenage years, strung together delicately to reflect how bitter and sweet a young girl's life can be.

About the Author:
Madame Vapala is a self-proclaimed "old-fashioned grandmother," trapped in the 1940s and 50s. She loves crocheting, canning, and cooking, and donates many of her homemade items to various organizations. She also enjoys writing children's fictional short stories.

Vapala wrote this book to give her strength and find acceptance in the trials and tribulations she experienced a lifetime ago and wishes it may inspire others to find hope despite their own troubled lives. She believes, as human beings, we all have flaws in our nature and, while our actions can have a devastating effect on others, we should be able to accept the good with the bad and learn to forgive, as God forgives and loves us all.

"Memories Not Forgotten" is a 110-page hardcover with a retail price of $21.00. The ISBN is 978-1-4349-2916-7. It was published by Dorrance Publishing Co., Inc of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
