Wichita, KS - Dr. Marq J. Sams at Wichita Periodontics has announced that he is now using 3D Cone Beam Computer Tomography (3D CBCT) to provide better dental implant treatment planning and results.

It is now easier than ever to access cutting-edge dental technology. Dr. Marq J. Sams is constantly updating his dental practice and procedures to provide the best care for his patients. He recently announced the addition of 3D cone beam computer tomography (CBCT) to aid patient care with advanced treatments, such as dental implants.

Although 3D CBCT is an innovative technology, it is based on existing X-ray technology. In the CBCT process, several X-rays are generated in a cone-like formation. Dr. Sams states, "For someone with a history of dental problems associated with missing or severely damaged teeth, securing dental implants is often the cornerstone of renewed dental health. Using CBCT greatly maximizes a patient's chances for safe and comfortable treatment with dental implants."

During the CBCT scan, a scanner revolves around the patient's head, collecting highly-detailed digital images. Using special software, Dr. Sams can manipulate the resultant data to identify dental problems and hazards. When choosing a dentist or periodontist, it's important to select a practice with an outstanding professional reputation. Throughout professional dental community, the most ambitious professionals, like Dr. Sams, are utilizing CBCT for thorough and efficient care.

Dr. Sams adds, "Dental implants have proven to be hugely beneficial for patients who are experiencing oral health complications from missing teeth. The team at our office is able to restore our patient's smiles as well as their natural biting and chewing function with the help of advancements in imagining technology."

3D CBCT software streamlines and standardizes the decision-making processes involved in providing good dental care. To meet clients' needs in a respectable fashion, Dr. Sams identifies which technologies are most critical for treatment development. These technologies are the multifaceted, multi-application devices that typify the best modern dental practices, such as CBCT technology. Whether repairing severe dental problems or simply maintaining good dental health, Dr. Sams relies on CBCT for best results.
