Articulate Fine Art to Showcase Three Contemporary Scottish Landscape Artists
March 18, 2014 Entertainment News(PRLEAP.COM) With the recent launch of its new look website leading Scottish online art gallery Articulate Fine Art www.articulatefineart.com is adding work by even more artists to its range.
New to the Gallery this month are three contemporary Scottish artists, John Lowry Morrison (Jolomo), Grace Cameron and Lillias Blackie. Their work features the Scottish landscape but with very different styles and engagements.
Gallery owner Raymond Chaplin believes that it is only by using high resolution images that the style and techniques of the artists can be properly appreciated and conveyed on line.
Many of the pictures have been photographed at a high resolution enabling them to be viewed full screen and in even finer detail.
Born in Maryhill, Glasgow John Lowry Morrison is one of Scotland's best loved and collected artists. His paintings hang in collections and homes around the world.
A constant source of inspiration for his paintings is the light and landscape of Scotland and the Western Isles with their crofts, boats and churches.
A deeply spiritual person John paints with a deep understanding of the nature of these landscapes, their history and the lives of those who live and work there.
John's choice and use of colour in his paintings is also symbolic of this culture and his paintings with their predominance of blues convey a subliminal sense of peace and tranquility. They capture the very soul of the landscape.
By contrast the paintings of Dundee born Grace Cameron have an almost hand hewn texture reflecting the light and rugged sculptured forms of the Scottish Mountains and landscapes in all their changing moods.
Grace paints mainly with acrylics using palette knives, hake brushes and sometimes her fingers to build up the layers of paint thus encapsulating the almost magical energy and awesome strength of her subjects.
Lillias Blackie paints mostly in oils drawing inspiration from a lifetime love of the seashore and of plants and flowers.
The wide open beaches and great expanses of sky to be found in Scotland are bathed in a unique quality of light. Light that is ever changing through the very long hours of daylight and with the moods of the weather.
Lillias uses her natural talent to convey in her paintings the peace and tranquility of the seashore as well as the many different moods of the seascape. Her work is widely hung and enjoyed all over the UK and beyond.
Articulate Fine Art was founded in 2004 and is based in the Scottish Borders, just South of Edinburgh.
The gallery built its reputation by specializing in limited edition prints by leading British artists such as David Shepherd, Beryl Cook, Alexander Millar, Graham Illingworth and Rolf Harris.
The Gallery has an excellent stock of these works including much sought after and out of print editions.
