Golden State Tax & Business Services To Hold Workshop on Business Taxation Basics

Rocklin, California — Golden State Tax & Business Services has announced their firm will be offering a workshop on business taxation for small business owners in April 2014.

Many small business owners do not fully understand business taxation and that lack of knowledge in the area leads to over payment of taxes and costly mistakes in tax preparation and filing. While hiring a professional accountant to handle a company\'s taxes can help small business owners avoid these types of problems, businesses are far more likely to succeed when their owners fully understand the tax system.

Rick Brown of Golden State Tax & Business Services is a former IRS auditor and EA with a teaching credential. He has previously developed workshops and seminars on tax related matters with the help of the U.S. Internal Revenue Services (IRS). For 5 years, he conducted workshops on a regular basis. This year, the IRS has identified a need for tax training in the Rocklin area based on inquiries the agency has received and requested that Brown offer a tax law presentation.

The presentation will cover the essentials that small business owners must know in order to properly file their taxes. Some of the topics covered will include deductions for meals, vehicles, and entertainment; how taxes are assessed to businesses and properly paid; the best methods for tax planning, and the benefits of paying estimated taxes.

"The seminar is meant to give business owners a glimpse into the IRS' expectations. Although the topics are geared toward new business owners, even those with established businesses can find new, beneficial information. My goal is to help business owners avoid mistakes that can lead to costly penalties and interest owed," explained Brown.

With his background in teaching and his unique knowledge of the inner-workings of the IRS, Rick is especially skilled to help local business owners in his area stay on top of their taxes, so their businesses can continue to grow and thrive. Rick adds, "I know tax code is complicated, but I am happy to break down intricate tax regulations so that business owners in my community can benefit from my experience."

Registration for the seminar is currently open. Those interested should contact Golden State Tax & Business Services.
