The book was written by a single working mother and her two elementary school children. Sir Morgan is a king in the Kingdom of Horrible Food. Through a series of conflicts, he eventually realizes the importance of eating well-balanced meals. His guidance to Buttercup, the seamstress, adds the lesson of "being happy with yourself and not trying to be someone else".

"Sir Morgan and the Kingdom of Horrible Food" is a heartwarming story with an interesting plot that keeps all ages of children engaged. It can be read to children as young as two years old, but is written at a fourth to fifth grade reading level.
