Mr. Gonzalez is a three time Olympian in the sport of luge, where a person is hurled down an icy slope while going 80mph on a sled. He did not take up the sport of luge until he was 21. Against all odds, four years later he was competing in the Winter Olympics and at the age of 39 he was racing against 20-year-olds in the Salt Lake City Olympics. He was also one of the 200 Olympians selected to be an Olympic Torchbearer for the Salt Lake City Games.
