NetSupport School delivers complete classroom management for your Chrome OS learning environment

May 06, 2014 (PRLEAP.COM) Education News
Atlanta, GA – May 6, 2014 – Education software developer NetSupport announces the immediate availability of its NetSupport School Tutor app for Chrome OS – the latest extension to the highly popular classroom management software's multi-platform capabilities.

NetSupport School is the most widely used solution of its kind and its continued appeal for educators worldwide is in no small part based on its ability to support any combination of classroom technology.

NetSupport's Student app for Chrome is already installed on 14,000 student Chromebooks in existing NetSupport School-managed classrooms, giving teachers the flexibility to connect to them from their own Windows desktop or Apple Mac.

The introduction of the new app will enable teachers in a dedicated Chrome environment to remotely interact and engage with student Chromebooks from their own Chrome OS-based system, making NetSupport School unique in offering both a student and teacher solution.

Taking its lead from NetSupport School's Windows and Mac Tutor program, the teacher's Chrome desktop displays real-time thumbnails of each student device in a single view. The teacher can zoom in for a clearer view of activity at an individual machine. Internet control and blocking is included along with chat, message, request help, and class survey functionality.

Commenting on this latest update, NetSupport's Managing Director Al Kingsley said: "As the computing landscape in the modern classroom continues to evolve, the challenge for classroom management vendors is to ensure their teaching solutions keep pace – not only through the range of features offered that support, but also in delivering compatibility with the varied mix of technology in use.

"NetSupport has already responded to the growing adoption of BYOD schemes by introducing its Student apps for Android tablets and iPads, and as Chromebooks make their mark across education, we are delighted that NetSupport School continues to offer a future-proofed solution to meet the changing needs of our customers."

The NetSupport School Tutor and Student apps for Chrome are available to download from the Google Chrome Web store.
