You Won't Believe This is a Smartwatch, How One Company is Redefining "Smart"

June 9, 2014 - Ontario, Canada. June 9th 2014. Scarborough-based Zetsu Lab announces the official launch of Sim, the first luxury NFC timepiece, ever. It's designed to simplify everything, saving you time and energy. And it's currently live on Kickstarter.

Google, Samsung, LG, and Motorola are rolling out smart watches left, right and center. And in the race to build the ultimate timepiece, one company is redefining what it means to be a smartwatch.

At first glance, Sim doesn't look smart. But underneath, it's powered by NFC, or Near Field Communication. A cousin of RFID, NFC tech can transfer information with just a tap.

Want to share your contact with someone else? Done. Phone about to die? Tap to put your phone on silent and turn down the brightness. Want your family to know you're home safe? Tap to send a text. Popularity is growing, with 2 of 3 phones to include NFC by 2018.

Sim is the first watch to combine both luxury watch components (like genuine leather, stainless steel casing, and rose gold plating) and NFC tech. The creators want to preserve 500 years of watchmaking tradition, totally updated to meet daily needs.
NFC is exploding in popularity, used for payment processing, transport, contact sharing, and more. But unfortunately, NFC wearables haven't kept up with the technology… until now. Other smart watches opt for toy-like plastics and bright colors.

The Zetsu Lab team consists of a close team of engineers, designers, and dreamers who have come together to introduce products that will change the world. Their mission is to bring a new kind of technology that combines refined aesthetics and unprecedented materials to improve life around the world. Learn more about Zetsu Lab at: http://zetsulab.com
