Mothers Share Personal Pregnancy and Birth Stories Online

Centerville, OH— Judi Cox began writing about the experience of delivering a stillborn infant as she and her husband were grieving their loss. “My therapeutic journaling slowly evolved into a desire to share our story and possibly help others,” Cox explained. Already an online publisher since April 2000, Cox changed the name of her website to Mom’s Little Garden and set in motion her new vision. An original Tree of Life Pendant, symbolizing the circle of life revolving around women, is highlighted on the site she’s created.

“I knew women trying to conceive or already pregnant are always searching for reading material about the birth process,” stated Cox. She is certain all moms-to- be should be more prepared than the Gone with the Wind character, Prissy, who screeched in the movie, “I don’t know nothin’ about birthin’ no babies!” Cox confirms, “Learning what other laboring women have encountered; especially when one is able to relate to the experience, is powerful knowledge.”

On the website, Cox, a married mom of four children, ranging in age from 19 months to 15 years old, recounts her personal birth stories. In a clear, easy to follow writing style, she relates the physical and emotional aspects of delivering a stillborn, enduring an unassisted home water birth and giving birth aided by a midwife during her most recent baby’s birth. Mom’s Little Garden is beginning to grow as other mother’s chronicle tales of giving birth. Cox hopes the shared stories on her website will help women alleviate apprehension and gain knowledge about child birth.
