Online divorce service Divorce-Online (www.divorce-online.co.uk) is gearing up for its busiest time of year - dealing with post-Christmas divorces.

The specialist divorce company says the festive season leads to many couples deciding to separate.

Founder and Legal Director Mark Keenan, said: "The pressure cooker atmosphere in the home at Christmas can intensify existing problems in a relationship and can lead some people to decide that the relationship is over and that a divorce is the only option for them.

"Many families are not used to spending so much time in each other's company plus there are additional financial burdens; the pressures of having to see extended family members; over indulging in alcohol and the demands of overly excited children.

"All of which can lead to people feeling very unhappy and miserable."

" Our advice is not to rush into divorce but to seek help from organisations such as Relate or Family Mediation. If you are going to divorce, then you need to try to keep it is amicable as possible."
