Switch Is The Yelp For Continuing Education

October 27, 2014 - SwitchUp.Org, the leading website for technology course reviews, announces plans to expand to other areas of continuing education. The Switch platform, originally intended for coding bootcamps, will add courses and reviews in language learning, supply chain management, digital marketing, and other types of adult learning programs.

"Switch's top priority is to help people learn new skills by finding the best courses," said Jonathan Lau, CEO and a coding bootcamp graduate himself. "We want to provide transparency, something that is lacking in private education. It's important that students know which programs fail to deliver quality education and which ones are awesome."

To this end, Switch currently publishes hundreds of unedited reviews of coding bootcamps and technology courses, interviews industry figures, and provides unbiased information. Switch's recent addition of online courses will also further broaden educational possibilities for new potential students, particularly for those that seek self-paced or more inexpensive options.

Courses from Code Academy, Treehouse, Coursera, and other online providers are integrated into the platform. Switch allows visitors to search based on various filters such as course subject, location, price, and rating, and also recommends courses based on a mini career quiz.

"There's so many different courses out there," said Jeremy Schwartz, CTO and a self-taught developer. " Since private education is unregulated, there needs to be an unbiased third-party organization. Our goal is to become the Yelp for continuing education."
