Santa Fe, NM (November 26, 2014) – American Photographic Artists (APA) proudly announces the 2014 APA/Lucie Foundation and APA/Young Photographers Alliance Scholarship recipients: photographer Anna Tihanyi of Budapest, Hungary and Cameron Durham of New York City.

The APA/Lucie Foundation Scholarship is a coveted scholarship awarded to a professional photographer who is beginning a new project idea, or continuing work in progress on a specific series. Anna Tihanyi received a $5000 cash prize at the 12th Annual Lucie Awards on Sunday, November 2, 2014, at Carnegie Hall in New York City.

The APA/YPA Scholarship allows young people from economically disadvantaged backgrounds to realize their artistic dreams and give back to their communities. To foster social and environmental responsibility in the photographers of tomorrow, scholarship recipients are selected not only for their ability and their need, but also for their demonstrated commitment to giving back to the larger community through their work. Cameron Durham received an award in the amount of $2,500.

Juliette Wolf-Robin, National Executive Director, APA, stated, "The Lucie Foundation provided us with a rich cross section of talented and worthy applicants from which to choose. The work was truly global in spectrum with an impressive variety of interesting projects. In a tight competition, it was Anna's well-outlined proposal that tipped the scales in her favor for the scholarship."

"We've been a partner of YPA for several years, because we believe in the good work they're doing in support of young emerging photographers," said Theresa Raffetto, APA President. "Cameron's unique vision and ability to execute that vision made him stand out among the many other talented photographers. We're very pleased to support his project."

APA is very proud to support professional artists and emerging talent.
