(PRLEAP.COM) "In Shadowed Bliss," a new poetry book written by Alexander Andrews, has been released by Dorrance Publishing Co., Inc.

Words can be life-giving and magical. There are no limits to where they may take us and how they may transform our thoughts and our lives. Certain defining moments are etched into our memories. The poetry of "In Shadowed Bliss" celebrates and captures these moments.

"In Shadowed Bliss" chronicles the spiritual growth and personal realizations of the poet and professor, Alexander Andrews. In sharing these poems with the readers, he effectively transports us through his words to our own moments of suffering and of happiness.

These poems are arranged in four key categories: a child's wonderment, nature and the perfection of its inherent design, love and human desire for affection, and the conflict of urbanization and the environment.

About the Author:
Alexander Andrews received his B.A. in 1995 and quickly followed up with the addition of an M.A. in 1997. He is currently a professor of English and Humanities at Estrella Mountain Community College in Avondale, AZ. He is an honorary Phi Theta Kappa member.

Andrews serves as the Honors Programs Director and is actively involved in advocating for and emphasizing the perspectives of underrepresented groups in the U.S., abroad, and on campus. As a culturally diverse individual with African American, Native American, and European ancestry, he understands students coming from varied backgrounds. In 2009, he received the Student Advocate Award for Excellence for his exemplary contributions to students and the community.

A love of language and life is evident in his poetry and his academic career.
