December 19, 2014 - Little Log Cabin Games, an indie developer of retro arcade games based out of the Untied Kingdom, announces the release of Stroid in the App Store. Stroid is a fresh take on the Space Shooter game genre with its simple gameplay, accompanied by an angular, clean visual style. This beautifully designed app is a retro-synth space shooter that tasks players with destroying hazards from the orbits of near and distant planets.

Stroid tests players' reflexes and challenges them to complete every last level. Players navigate thirty exospheres, attempting to clear each of dangers, whilst avoiding satellites and collecting ore for ship upgrades and power ups.

One feature that makes the game stand out is its minimalistic art style, which, combined with a catchy space-themed soundtrack and simple tilt-and-tap gameplay that gets more challenging over time, will win over its users almost instantly.

"Space Shooters are typically frenetic affairs with screens full of particle effects and enemies. Stroid is a simple take on the genre that I wanted to be accessible, charming and addictive. The game's premise and action were inspired by a Unity3D tutorial and Vlambeer's Ridiculous Fishing and the game's colourful, angular art style is intended to create a cohesive, appealing world." says creator Matthew Sawrey.

Stroid is now available for download on the App Store for $1.99/£1.49. For more information, check out the game's profile page on Facebook, follow Matt on Twitter or check out his website, littlelogcabingames.com

About Matt Sawrey and Little Log Cabin Games:

In March 2014 Matt Sawrey decided to make a game. One Unity3D download, many online tutorials and countless frustrating evenings later and he's done just that with Stroid. Following on from Stroid he's decided to make a space in which to make more games with collaborators - a Little Log Cabin. This Little Log Cabin is currently occupied by Matt Sawrey and Stephen Lomax. Matt's busy releasing Stroid and together they're plotting out a new game.
