August 22, 2015 - Harvey Kubernik has become a music industry go-to guy for articles about pop music personalities, individual musicians, bands, record producers, audio engineers, singers, songwriters and DJs.

Kubernik's association with Otherworld Cottage Industries began when he wrote the introduction to our 2013 publication of "Odd Tales and Wonders, 1964-1974 A Decade of Performance". Since then, Harvey penned three separate in-depth interviews with Travis and his brother, Adam Pike, coinciding with the release of their several fresh recordings of Travis' most popular original songs from his sixties concert career, and an album of updated versions of songs from 1966's FEELIN' GOOD, a feature-length, widescreen, color movie starring Travis Pike and featuring several songs he wrote and performed in the movie.

We told you back in April that we'd created a special KUBERNIK'S KORNER.page and posted it on our website, to keep readers up-to-date on his newly published books and articles and special projects in development. If you've been following Harvey's career there, you already know that during July 2015, he provided research and gave an extensive interview to author Jonathan Gould for his book, "Otis Redding: An Unfinished Life" that will be out on September 27, 2016 from Crown Publishing Group. Beatles fans may remember that Gould previously penned "Can't Buy Me Love: The Beatles, Britain, and America," according to the Baltimore Sun, "The best book ever written about the Beatles."

So it is no surprise to us that Kubernik is among the featured guests in Paul Ingles' latest chapter in his on-going series of in-depth programs on Beatles history is "Isn't It Good? The Beatles' Rubber Soul", marking the 50th anniversary of the release of that Beatles landmark album in 1965.

Ingles talks with musicians, writers, and Beatles fans to capture the invention and impact of this particular Beatles release that competes with other Beatles albums like "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" and "Revolver" as a top favorite of critics and fans alike.

In addition to Kubernik's contributions, "Isn't It Good? The Beatles Rubber Soul" also includes comments from music writers Anthony DeCurtis, Jim Fusilli, Paul Zollo, and Ashley Kahn, as well as musicians like Shawn Colvin, Peter Mulvey, Jon Spurney and others. Like Ingles other Beatles album specials, National Public Radio listeners will hear the stories behind each track on both the British Release and the slightly different U.S. release of the album.

The radio special will be released in both two-hour and one-hour versions in early October and will air at different times on different stations in November and December, as well as be archived for online listening at the Public Radio Exchange (www.prx.org).

Visitor's to Kubernik's Korner will already be aware that for the December 2015 issue of Record Collector News Magazine, Harvey is writing a cover story on the Beatles Rubber Soul album that was initially released on December 3, 1965. Kubernik's 50 year retrospective on the album will be a multi-voice narrative, implementing musicians, writers, poets, deejays, and authors of Beatles-related titles.
