Woodstock, CT January 18, 2005 — Greystokes International of Kelowna, B.C. is pleased to announce that Sven and Hillevi Obet Paul have won the companies best building story for 2005. The story behind the construction of their home in Griswold, CT spans three generations which started with a dream after an escape from Europe in World War II.

Hillevi Obet Paul wrote, "We somehow never had the heart to change "dad's" color. I'd always assumed he'd chosen it simply because he liked it and never realized that it could possibly mean so much more than that. When my dad passed away in the summer of 1999, his last wish was for him and my mom to be buried in Estonia next to his parents. On the journey home, I decided to recreate the sea voyage made by my father more than half a century earlier in far different circumstances. As the ship slowed and the fog began to lift, small craggy islands dotted with pine and fir trees drifted into view. And nestled on practically each and every one of them was a small cabin or two whose predominant color was barn red with white trim! My dad's first glimpse of peace and freedom in nearly five years!"

Their winning story is also accompanied by a photo journal which spans from land clearing in 1961 started by Hillevi's parents to the cabin constructed today. The Paul's cabin, The Adams, is one of Greystokes most popular designs and has been built throughout the U.S. and Canada.

The contest was open to anyone in the U.S. or Canada who has built a home designed and supplied by Greystokes International. CT Country Cabins, LLC of Woodstock, CT was the general contractor the Paul's home and is the Connecticut independent representative for Greystokes International.
