The Company also provides general industrial construction and in-plant routine maintenance, process unit turnarounds, and construction services.

After a four and a half month implementation, Matrix Service went live December 1, 2003, with 20 users and 75 shop employees. According to Vicki Reese, Business Unit Controller, Matrix is already starting to see benefits. "We are now more proactive with production issues and can determine when and why a job is straying off time or money parameters. We have the ability to compare 'planned' versus 'actual' at any time during the project as well as tracking historical costing for future estimating.

"The utilization of shop floor data collection has eliminated the duplicate data entry for timecards, previously manually completed by the employee. We now have the ability to track real time on a project and to more efficiently manage our employees and projects.

"The BOM is imported directly from Engineering, eliminating the manual review of drawings before preparing the purchase order. This information then flows throughout the system to receiving and accounts payable, eliminating previous double entry."
