October 23, 2015 - SleeterCon is bringing Tom Hood front and center at the 12th Annual Accounting Technology conference to deliver a keynote on How Business Would Thrive if More Accountants were Proactive, Not Reactive. His presentation focuses on how the new age of hyper-change and growing uncertainty creates a fast changing environment that accountants must adapt to. He will review the top five steps on how to be competent in the digital age and discuss the opportunity for managers to be proactive to avoid crisis.

Tom is changing the way the accounting profession operates; he is an author, facilitator, advocate and thought leader focused on action. Tom is passionate about three areas: leadership, learning, and technology to help CPAs "shape their future". Through his work at the Maryland Association of CPAs and the Business Learning Institute, a center for the development of leadership, strategic thinking, and collaboration skills for CPAs he has helped countless firms bridge the gap between technology and operations.

Tom was named the second most influential leader in the CPA Profession in Accounting Today's list of the Top 100 Most Influential People in Accounting (his ninth time on the list). Tom and his team have facilitated and taught the Major Firms Group (Top 100 CPA firms) for the AICPA, the AICPA Leadership Academy and lead strategic planning sessions for the top CPA firms all over the US, along with corporations and non-profits.

Tom is an expert at strategy planning in accounting firms and co-authored BLI's i2a - Insights to Action a strategic thinking system that is used to cultivate leaders and a strategic planning process. The i2a process was customized for the national CPA Horizons 2025 project where Tom and his team ran thirty future forums that engaged thousands of participants in a conversation about the future, identifying the top trends facing the CPA Profession.

Doug Sleeter, Founder of The Sleeter Group and longtime friend of Mr. Hood, commented on his upcoming keynote presentation: "Tom is one of the most active thought leaders in this profession. He understands what matters to the firms because he works closely with them year-round and has a genuine interest in improving how we all do business. His keynote is a must-see and will surely help organizations understand how to adapt with all the accelerated change."
