October 27, 2015 - Credit Union Attorney Joe Covelli of Covelli Law Offices is scheduled to speak at the Pennsylvania Credit Union Association Compliance Town Meeting. The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, November 5, 2015, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Pittsburgh – Cranberry which is located in Mars, Pa.

Occurring each Spring and Fall, Compliance Town Meetings are a great way to stay on top of the latest regulations and compliance requirements. Each meeting addresses some of the newest proposed regulations, requirements and discussion panels on the common issues faced by Credit Unions throughout the state.

November's meeting kicks off at 9:00 a.m. with registration and a continental breakfast, followed by the first scheduled session at 9:30 a.m., 'Troubled Debt Panel: Loans Gone Bad.' Alongside Attorney Matt Urban, Joe Covelli is scheduled to overview the issue of troubled debts. Together, the two will share industry insight and work through hypothetical examples of what can go wrong and the various solutions credit unions can pursue to rehabilitate the loan.

The morning session will be followed by a brief lunch period, allowing attendees a chance to ask more questions of the attorneys, while discussing the various compliance issues faced at their credit unions. At 1:00 p.m., the afternoon session begins with a discussion panel on 'Human Resource Issues Affecting Credit Unions.'

The session will address the most complex human resource issues faced by credit unions – including confidentiality, documentation, wage and hour issues and communication – to help attendees better understand and handle these issues. The afternoon session is scheduled to end at 4:00 p.m.
