WIAL Caribbean Announces 2016 Board

December 14, 2015 - WIAL Caribbean has selected a diverse group of senior professionals to form its 2016 Advisory Board. The Board will advise on governance, legal, financial and risk issues as well as provide guidance on strategic direction. While the organization will be seeking to expand its reach and services during 2016, it must also focus on governance and legal considerations, particularly as it will be operating across several countries simultaneously.

Advising on governance, legal and financial matters will be Russell Wilson and Musa Ali. Russell Wilson is a Certified Internal Auditor, a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) and is certified in Risk Management Assurance. Mr Wilson, who is a Senior Auditor with the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB), Barbados, holds an MBA in Finance and a BSc in Accounting. He is also a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. Musa Ali, graduate of NYU School of Law and the Hugh Wooding Law School, is a member of the bar in the State of New York and in Trinidad and Tobago. Mr Ali has served as an Assistant District Attorney in New York, an Administrative Law Judge with the New York City Department of Finance and a Judicial Research Officer at the Caribbean Court of Justice (CCJ). Mr Ali is currently Registrar of the CARICOM Competition Commission (CCC) based in Suriname.

Dr Ruby Brown and Dr Daniel Belet, together with the other Board members will provide guidance on strategic direction and will advise on expansion of services and affiliations with key regional and international organizations. Dr Daniel Belet, co-founder of WIAL France, is Professor of Leadership and Organization Development at La Rochelle Business School, France. Dr Belet is a Certified Senior Action Learning Coach, and holds doctorates in Economics and in Business Administration, Masters' Degree in Management and Bachelor's Degree in Political Science. He will also be assisting WIAL Caribbean to develop Action Learning Coaches for the French-speaking Caribbean. Dr Ruby Brown who is Chief Executive Officer of the Management Institute for National Development (MIND), Jamaica, holds a BSc in Management & Psychology, MSc in Training & HRM and a PhD in Leadership and Change.

Kelly Culver, an Action Learning practitioner, will advise WIAL Caribbean on its support services for Certified Action Learning Coaches. Ms Culver is a Certified Management Consultant and Registered Professional Trainer, who has extensive experience in workforce planning and organizational design, particularly in public sector and not-for-profit organizations. She is based in Ontario, Canada.

All members of the Advisory Board share WIAL Caribbean's passion and desire for Action Learning to become a main vehicle for transformation that will unleash the full potential of the regions' people in systems characterized by good governance for the development of sustainable Caribbean societies and nations.
