Within its very first week of launching, the TADASHI HOME COLLECTION has already been picked up by two of the nation’s trendsetting boutiques: Fred Segal in Los Angeles and the renowned Takashimaya in New York. In an effort to maintain the image and integrity of the TADASHI brand, the Tadashi Home Collection will launch in only exclusive upscale department stores and the finest boutiques around the globe.

Tadashi Shoji, designer, owner and president of the Los Angeles-based Tadashi, added to the list of recognized and respected fashion designers who have set out to demonstrate their creativity and skill in other arenas, when he launched the Tadashi Home Collection in January of 2006.

“I have longed to venture out into other areas outside of Fashion and the recent remodel of my own home really brought out a passion that I want to share with others,” commented Tadashi Shoji, whose home was recently featured in the Los Angeles Times. “Smell is one of the most powerful scents and something that I have never before attempted to use in creating moods or shaping experiences, so this debut is a distinct part of my evolution as a designer.”

The first of many accessories for the home to be launched by the Tadashi Home Collection will be a line of aromatic candles, which will come in six distinct scents and are made of 100% soy wax and natural lead-free wicks. Each individually created by Tadashi Shoji, who drew from his roots, experiences and innate sensibilities to seek out fragrances found in nature. By combining rare and exotic fine oils, he was able to create unique and seductive fragrances that possess the power to uplift, calm and inspire individuals.

The candles are available in Tilia, a lime blossom with hints of rose, honeysuckle, jasmine, lily of the valley and gardenia; Bellaria, heavenly gardenia accented with magnolia, plumeria, orange blossom, ylang ylang and jasmine; Lilium, a balance of pink and white lily of the valley; Flora, an enchanting combination of jasmine, frangipani, orange blossom and ylang ylang; Aetheria, a spring rain created with white ginger, pikaki, jasmine, wild orchid and plumeria; and Ariena, a tropical bloom of sakura blossom, red hibiscus, wild plum, star thistle honey and asian pear.

In less than 25 successful years, designer Tadashi Shoji has managed to build an internationally renowned design house known for its original designs and innovative collections. The Tadashi label can be found at his flagship boutiques in Southern California’s prestigious South Coast Plaza, at the world-renowned Forum Shops at Caesars in Las Vegas and at more than 3,000 specialty and department stores around the globe, including Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom and Bloomingdale’s. With a new factory in Shanghai and plans to expand to ready-to-wear for Fall 2006, Tadashi has once again secured his position as a leader in the fashion world. His showroom in Tokyo and a strong presence in high-end Japanese stores including, Isetan, Epoca the Shops and Anniversaire Omotesando, reinforce his international status. Tadashi continues to raise the bar for competitors around the world.
