For the first time in Portugal, eSports legal contracts between players and the Association they represent have been signed up on the 17th January. Being the only active eSports Association in the country, K1ck eSports Club took yet another step into a more professionalized online gaming community, achieving an easy agreement with their Counter-Strike team concerning the contracts for the 2006 Season. Players from other K1ck Divisions will soon follow, in an effort to provide better conditions to the Association members and improve the quality of Portuguese online gamers.

Being the most popular eSports Game in the world, Counter-Strike was the first division in the Club to benefit from this more professional approach to online gaming. The sign up event with the players began at K1ck’s Lan House in the city of Seia, with the usual photos available at k1ck.com, and was concluded in the city of Porto.

According to Pedro “Spirit” Fernandes, the chairman of the board, “writing down on paper what was always a good understanding between the players that throughout the ages represented the Clan/Association and the board of the Club, is of the utmost importance to us. It means that not only we have faith in the players but they also trust us to orient their careers. Being able to offer a sense of security and stability to sponsors is also another great advantage of this historic step in the Portuguese eSports.”
