“Just Words,” a workshop for aspiring writers and authors will meet Sundays January 22nd – March 26th from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. at JUST BOOKS, TOO, 28 Arcadia Road, Old Greenwich. Designed to help participants commit ideas to paper, improve writing skills and edit work in progress, “Just Words” provides tangible support during the creative process to writers of every genre, including fiction, non-fiction, short stories, novels, memoirs, articles, business writing, poetry, screenplays, creative non-fiction and essays. The program includes exercises to exorcize “writer’s block,” group feedback, assistance in line editing work, and an introduction to writing for publication.
“Whether writing for business, pleasure or prospective publication, we welcome both new and experienced writers,” said Leslie Gueguen, the group’s moderator and founder. “This is our third year at JUST BOOKS, TOO. It’s the ideal place to find inspiration, imagining one’s work beside the other books on the shelves. We’ve discovered several talented local storytellers, able to provide a sense of place, tension, conflict resolution and the spirit of life in the space of only a few pages. It’s a wonderful place to find support for one’s work in a non-competitive environment.” Tuition for “Just Words” is $250 ($235 for returning writers) or $35 per single two hour session. To register, please contact Leslie at (203) 698-1169 or cherrimae@optonline.net or drop in Sunday at 4 p.m.
