Hertz Furniture Awards 21st Century Learning Commons Grant to Kansas City Charter School

March 31, 2016 - Hertz Furniture, the premier school furniture supplier, has awarded their 21st Century Learning Commons Grant valued at $50,000 to Crossroads Academy of Kansas City, located in Kansas City, Missouri. This grant was open to all U.S. charter schools opening a new school in 2015 or 2016 whose state association participates with BuyQ (formerly known as Momentum Ventures). Crossroads Academy opened a middle school and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) facility in the fall of 2015, using the Hertz Furniture grant to furnish their new learning commons area.

Working closely to match the school's teaching style and curriculum, Hertz Furniture created a space that will inspire and engage students and teachers for years to come. Sofas that can be easily reconfigured and moved, tables for project collaboration, a smart TV work area, uniquely designed stools, and soft seating provide a flexible, inviting and innovative space that appeals teachers and students alike.
