Leeds School of Business Ranks #15 in Top Sustainable MBA Programs

May 24, 2016 - With its strong emphasis on social and environmental responsibility, the Leeds School of Business' MBA program has been ranked one of the top 15 affordable conscious business programs in the U.S. by Conscious Company Magazine.

Of 100 business schools, the Leeds School at the University of Colorado Boulder ranked 15th as one of the best programs providing graduates with a competitive advantage in finding and creating careers that emphasize sustainability and social impact. An added bonus is the surrounding Boulder community, a hub for impact entrepreneurs in the energy and natural foods sectors.

"The Leeds program adds a world-class ethics in business component via the university's Center for Education on Social Responsibility (CESR)," reports the magazine, which goes on to say that "[MBA] programs traditionally churn out bottom-line-oriented management types who go on to careers in consulting, private equity, and the like. But in the last decade or so, some business and management schools have shifted gears to create curricula with a focus on triple-bottom-line principles."

The final rankings were based on each school's holistic educational approach, affordability and rating as "top-notch" by students in Net Impact's latest surveys. Each of the top 15 schools had a top-50 rank for their programs in social impact, environmental sustainability and social entrepreneurship. In addition, their total tuition was required to be $110,000 or less for two years.

No stranger to ranking among top business schools, Leeds was recognized in 2015 by U.S. News and World Report, BusinessWeek, Beyond Grey Pinstripes and Forbes.
