MUV Water Filter Nearly Doubles Funding Goal

June 17, 2016 - Renovo Water announced their new water filter, MUV, on Kickstarter late last month and has nearly doubled their funding goal of $30,000. Kickstarter is a crowdfunding platform where regular consumers can pledge to buy a product before it goes into production. Obviously a lot of people believe MUV is going to be a hit because over 600 people have already backed the project.

"We are overwhelmed with the support that our customers have shown for MUV," says Daniel Beck, President of Renovo Water. "It feels good to have your product and idea validated. We have worked on this filter for over three years and we believe it is a great product, but you never really know if your customers believe the same way until they put their money where their mouths are."

MUV is an adaptable water filter that puts a new twist on they way you use a water filter. Most water filters on the market are a single filter medium. While this is good for most back-country water in North America, these filters don't do anything to remove chemicals, pesticides, heavy metals, or viruses from the water. MUV is a 3-stage filter that can be customized to protect you from the contaminants in any water you come across. With relatively safe water you would probably only use MUV2, which is made of hollow fiber and blocks 99.999% of all bacteria, including Giardia, E.Coli, Cryptosporidium and more. If you were out of the country or had severe water conditions, you would use MUV1, MUV2, and MUV3 modules and have complete chemical, bacterial, and virus protection.

"Adaptable is the best way to describe the MUV filter. It is the first and only filter to adapt to both your activity or lifestyle and the water source you are filtering. Having worked in the outdoor industry and after years of doing everything from hiking and canyoneering to car camping, I realized you needed more than just a single filter type," says Daniel.

MUV has one more week left on Kickstarter, and with their introductory pricing below the expected MSRP, now may be a good time to invest in their water filter. You can learn more about MUV or back the project on their Kickstarter page: http://46ufLdcn.kckb.st
