The first annual ThothWeb Scavenger hunt will give anyone interested in the unexplained a chance to further their interest in the paranormal, meet likeminded people and hopefully have a lot of fun participating in events.

The rules are simple; follow the set of clues posted on the site to discover 25 hidden tokens, each worth 10 points. The clues will lead you through the sites numerous articles on ghosts, ancient mysteries, secret societies, aliens, UFOs, crop circles, occult, mysticism, tarot, Egypt, sacred sites, conspiracies and more, where the tokens have been placed.

A LITTLE TIP: Thothweb has a very well laid out and quite extensive image gallery so be sure to check this for tokens too.

In addition to the 25 hidden tokens there will be an undisclosed number of bonus tokens, which will be hidden in the discussion forums every day.

People can submit their finds as soon as they are made and a leaders board will be set up on the home page so contestants can see how well they’re doing as the game progresses.

The competition starts on Friday 27th January 2006 runs for 8 days, ending at midnight (GMT) on Friday February 3rd 2006. Membership of the site is completely free and the competition is open to all members. Because ThothWeb operates an ‘open door’ policy, non-members can still navigate all the relevant areas of the site and play the game for their own enjoyment without submitting their finds.

As a final incentive, the winning scavenger will receive a copy of Matt Lamy’s book, 100 Strangest Mysteries as a prize.
