Mumbai, July 28, 2016: In India, for a good amount of time, it becomes terribly difficult for Common Man to find Blood at the time of Need and also people who could donate their Organs post demise. Though sensitive a topic, it is very important to know how Crucial this is.

Rotaract District 3141 and Rotary District 3141 in association with State Blood Transfusion Council (Maharashtra) ,Western Railway Mazdoor Sangh', Central Railway 'National Railway Mazdoor Union' and Red Cross organised "JEEVAN DAAN" - A Mega Blood Donation and Organ Donation Camp at 23 Different Locations across Mumbai with the Support of over 100 Rotary and Rotaract Clubs together on 1st JULY 2016.

The Event saw a HUGE SUCCESS with a total of 2200 + Bottles being collected in the span of just 6 - 7 hours. The response received was Fantastic.

"We are so happy to see Youth investing time in Rotaract and contributing to the Welfare of the Community." was the feedback by one of the Donors.

District Governor (DG) Rtn. Gopalrai Mandhania commented, "It is the finest way to start our Rotary year on the Pratham day by joining hands with our youth body Rotaract across Mumbai to collect blood and create awareness around Organ Donations. It is one of our focus areas for the year because we believe that Rotary serves Humanity."

Our District Rotaract Representative (DRR). Rtr. Rohan Dalmia believes that "We all are here in this World for our Selfish Motives but it's important to think about your Fellow beings and think about the uplift of our Society in General. IT'S WE WHO CAN BRING THE CHANGE. Our partner SBTC has assured that Rotary and Rotaract will get full support for any blood requirements in the year, which is a privileged moment for us."

This initiative saw the 2 entities work as ONE and give a kick start to the year. This has also led to a new initiative around health awareness campaigns and talks since over 40% of the prospective donors were rejected. Additionally there are 10 more locations where the camps are being organized in this week across Mumbai. Special mention of Mr. Anil Ghade, who supported the initiative and mentored the entire process along with the various coordination for permissions.
